The 2018 Château Mouton Rothschild vintage is a red wine produced by this prestigious first-growth winery located in the village of Pauillac in the Bordeaux region. Following a rainy winter and a spring marked by heavy hail and sleet, the summer was hot and dry, creating ideal conditions for grape growing. The result was an excellent harvest of small, highly sugary grapes with ample tannins. The blend is composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. This wine has a rich, deep black color and offers aromas of ripe fruit with hints of nutmeg and a subtle hint of menthol. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with subtle nuances of spice further enhancing the flavors of blackberry and cherry. Creamy tannins and aromas of candied fruit blend beautifully, giving the wine a mellow, fragrant finish. It finishes with refinement and exceptional length. The 2018 label was designed by Xu Bing, a leading figure in contemporary Chinese art. While the design resembles Chinese characters, it is actually an original design that combines the letters of "MOUTON" and "ROTHSCHILD" to resemble the radicals and side characters of Chinese characters.
